Fate had foretold of an oncoming War, one that would take down the Gods. It spoke of an uprising amongst close kin, and it would be Atticus who had been plucked by Fates to save Olympus.Life in Greece was almost peaceful, almost serene. With much-needed attention and grooming from Ares, all seemed well with the Vardalos family. Atticus’ family was open-minded, warm, welcoming, and supportive. Which would strike many unfamiliar with Ares’ known passed. Despite the well-loved, well-rounded family, despite being loved and raised under a loving roof, and despite coming from a welcoming family; Atticus still suffered. It was at the age of eight when the young Demi-god revealed his true form. His Eldritch being.Children are fickle creatures; unpredictable, wild, free, and careless. Often allowing whatever emotion that fronted to take over and overwhelm. It was all too unpredictable when Atticus lost control of himself. The accident happened just past Caldera Beach, a quiet, small beach, that just happened to be home to a school of middle school students on a field trip. It had to be THAT day, didn’t it? Unknown to Atticus, a monster, a beast lay within clawing its way out, gnawing its way to the surface. A chain reaction of chaos, terror, and angst fed into the boy; unable to stop the young Grecian from shedding his mortal skin.A Godly intervention had been needed to return Atticus from his Eldritch form. There was a total of seven casualties that lost their lives that day on the beach. Many others unknowingly owe their lives in thanks to Ares. A moment of Divine intervention in which returned Atticus back to his once mortal body. With many strings and Many miracles later the Vardalos family attempted to regain their daily routines. His mother attempted to reopen her pastry shop, while Atticus would enroll in a different school. With the advice to move away from the incident, they found a new home on the other side of Athens.Sadly, it only took a few years for the God’s ‘miracle clean up’ to begin to unravel. Delia attempted to keep living a normal life with her son. Though, it seemed memories of the accident left more damage to both him and his family name. It was at the age of eleven did Delia decide to move them to New York. Deciding it would give the best possible future for her son while leaving his grandparents' and whatever friends he had behind. There, they begin their new life.This new life proves stressful for Delia; with Atticus quickly falling in with the wrong crowd, he grew to be more unruly and his delinquency began to grow to be too much. With his joining gangs, and his frequent trips to juvenile hall it took a little less than two years for Delia to settle down with a man she met in New York. A man by the name of Nicollo, a well-off Italian fellow who owned a small diner on one of the streets of New York. Niccolo was quick to show his love and devotion to Delia, by blessing her with twins. Lucca and Livia soon came into the world when Atticus was thirteen.It did not take long, however, to realize that Niccolo and Atticus bumped heads immensely. With Atticus being a proud son of the Gods and Niccolo being closed-minded in it all. Atticus did not do well with authority, and Niccolo was a very strict man, with rules he demanded to be followed. With such chaos running rampant on top of his combative personality, and the constant now needs of newborns, Niccolo suggested, or more heavily pushed the idea of sending Atticus away to Military school. With Ares's positive approval, the young demi-god was sent away to Illinois.Military school was no doubt one of the best things to have happened to him. And of course, Ares had known all along what had been best for the male. The military school allowed Atticus to learn much about himself he would not have been able to find out anywhere else. ( His mortal side at least. That is. ) Learning the survival skills he needed, allowed him to find relief in the anger that constantly bubbled beneath his skin at all times. It was not until his graduation at the age of eighteen did Atticus eventually leave Illinois and returned to his familial home in New York.During the three long years Atticus had been away, he remained flesh crazed; rambunctious, and consumed with lust. It seemed no human male or female could ever seem to keep up with the ravenous demi-god. It was not however until another demi-god entered his life. Keegan, a daughter of Asteria, was filled with such a joyful personality. It was she who had the personality that could handle and tame the wild beast. Atticus turns eighteen when he soon realizes that he and Keegan were meant to be.Life seemed sweet, filled with bliss with his life alongside Keegan. New York was home and things began to really begin to feel like this was how life was supposed to be. It lasted four good years before the Gods again, intervened. The prophecy once foretold would finally fall into effect. The wheels of fate began to turn, and the gods were forced to move their hands. Placing an uncurable highly accelerated illness within Keegan. They were pushing Atticus in the direction he needed to save the world.He is twenty-two when Keegan inevitably passes. Atticus is given no chance, no time to mourn in his life. Assisting Keegan’s father with not only the funeral but also assisting the man with his everyday needs. Atticus continued on; grief-stricken, unable to feel the true pain of her loss until it was too late. Eventually, the boy is left to his own self-sabotaging tendencies, swaying from his home life and falling back into his own path of destruction. It is up until Atticus meets Charles, another son of Ares. This, is where the war begins.
